Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Unboxing

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G will be available with special edition boxes to the first 5000 customers. This will include an additional box along with the box of the device. That box has gaming accessories. The entire set comes in a black colored box. There are 2 black boxes inside, out of which one had gaming accessories while the other had the Infinix GT 10 Pro smartphone.

If we talk about the gaming accessories box, consists of two shoulder triggers and gloves for fingers which can be used during gaming. There is also a small black case that can be used to carry these gaming accessories anywhere. A small guide as well that can be used to figure out how to use the gaming accessories during the gaming session.

The other box consists of the handset, 45W adapter, protective cover, protective film for display, orange colored USB Type-C cable, SIM Ejector tool and quick guide, etc.

  • Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G
  • 45W adapter
  • Type-C cable
  • Protective film
  • Quick guide
  • Safety guide
  • TPU cover
  • Gaming trigger
  • Gloves for fingers

One more interesting thing is that the box can be used as a boom box or a speaker hub too. How this can be done is given on the box of the device. A glimpse can be seen in the image above.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Design

When you first unbox Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G, it reminds you of Nothing Phone’s transparent design, but in actuality, it is quite different. The smartphone has a glass finish at the back but it is made of polycarbonate. The front has a decent-sized display and in the middle is a metallic frame.

The rear panel of the Infinix GT 10 Pro is pretty interesting. It is transparent but has some orange strips on the inside. Other than that it is made of various shades of blue. The camera module on the back is huge with 3 camera cutouts, out of which 2 are big and one is small. There is an LED light as well which looks like a ring. The camera module also has orange lines, which look broader than the rest of the back panel.

The rear panel looks good and catches smudges easily but the good part is that these smudges won’t be too visible if you don’t look for them closely. If this still bothers you, then use the protective cover inside the box. Many smartphones come with a noticeable camera bump, but Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G doesn’t have a protrusion at all. This is the reason that the device can be kept on the surface without wobbling.

Backlight (LED strips on Rear panel)

Infinix GT 10 Pro follows the design language of Nothing Phone 2 and so it has a transparent design with LED lighting. However, in this smartphone light is given on the rear camera module that includes 5 small strips. These strips blink while charging, notifications, incoming calls, and playing music. Infinix GT 10 Pro doesn’t have a glyph interface like Nothing Phone 2. This Infinix smartphone sees the light blinking only when the device is charging or there is a notification, and it turns off in a few seconds. The shot below illustrates the same.

While playing music, these LED lights blink according to the music, which looks nice.

At the front, there is a 6.67-inch display. The display has slim bezels on all 4 sides, unlike some other smartphones where bezels at the bottom are thicker. At the top is a punch-hole selfie camera cutout for a selfie lens.

The right edge houses a power button as well as volume rockers while the left edge sports a sim tray. The bottom edge consists of a speaker, Type-C port, microphone, and audio jack while the top side has a secondary microphone and speaker.

All in all, the design of the smartphone has been made keeping in mind the choice of young consumers. Infinix GT 10 Pro has been made for gamers. It is lightweight (187 grams) but slightly thick (8.1mm) and easily fits in hand. We were loaned the black color variant but you can also opt for a white shade that is available.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Display

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. LTPS panel has been used for the screen. The smartphone supports 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling, 900 nits brightness, and more. Infinix GT 10 Pro has a 120Hz refresh rate which makes sure scrolling and gaming are smooth. Although some apps run at 60Hz but apart from that one can switch between 120Hz/90Hz/60Hz and auto mode.

The display has slim bezels which makes sure that content streaming and gaming are enjoyable and uninterrupted by a selfie camera on top.

The colors on the display seem slightly boosted. Shades like green, red, and blue seem too bright, and even the dynamic range could have been made better. This is because shadows are visible on the display and sometimes the visuals look very dark due to underwhelming dynamic range.

There is no HDR support but Widevine L1 is available for Netflix, Prime Video, and other apps so you can view content in HD.

The display is good for gaming, but for those who like to watch content, it might not be easy on their eyes. There is an option to choose between Bright or Original in color styler settings. We used it with the Original color option but still, it wasn’t easy on the eyes. However, while gaming there were no issues with the colors on the display.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Camera

Infinix GT 10 Pro sports a triple camera setup at the back. The smartphone has a 108MP primary camera which is a PDAF, 6p lens with 1.75 aperture. There is a 2MP depth and a 2MP macro sensor as well.

The primary 108MP camera clicks decent shots in good light conditions during the day. It is an AI camera and by default, it clicks images with AI. The images clicked with AI have slightly boosted colors but when the AI is turned off, the colors seem natural. The clicks have a decent dynamic range and the colors are also satisfactory. The samples given below showcase how much AI boosts colors in a photograph. The AI image has darker versions of the tree as well as the sky.

The photos clicked in night time are also ok but detailing is slightly lesser than the ones clicked in day time. For this price point, the Super Night Mode does its job well as it improves images clicked in low light conditions.

The 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors don’t really give any good results. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera at the front. I wasn’t expecting much from this camera, but it did click good selfies. The colors were natural and the faces didn’t look like they are beautified. The portrait mode also gives good detailing and the subject is kept in focus with the background being blurred out.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Performance

Infinix GT 10 Pro is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset. It is the first smartphone in India with Dimensity 8050 SoC. The chipset has a primary Cortex ARM A78 core which clocks at 3.0GHz, 3 performance Cortex A78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and 4 efficiency Cortex A55 cores at 2.0GHz. We received the 8GB onboard RAM+ 8GB RAM expansion model with 256GB storage.

We used the smartphone for a while and whether it is hours of content streaming or multitasking, the phone ran smoothly. There were no lags or slowdowns while gaming as well. We played COD Mobile for about 40 minutes and did not experience any lags at any point in time. The graphics as well as frame rates were set to High during the gaming session.

The biggest disappointment is the thermal performance. For a device that is deemed as a gaming phone, Infinix GT 10 Pro doesn’t have an apt cooling system. Although the smartphone didn’t heat up too much while gaming, a vapor chamber cooling system is an important aspect of gaming phones these days.

Since we are talking about gaming performance, let us talk about gaming triggers as well. The gaming triggers come inside the box and we used them during our review. The triggers can be attached to the right side of the device and the buttons of the triggers have to be attached to the settings of the game to perform actions like firing a bullet or shooting an arrow. We played COD Mobile with these triggers and they performed well. Gaming also got easy with these triggers. Moreover, the sound of buttons is also nice. There are two-finger gloves as well but wearing them didn’t have any major impact on the gaming experience. These might be useful if your hands get sweaty while gaming in the summer.

Infinix GT 10 Pro runs Android 13 with XOS 13 skin on top. We used this OS after a long while and it was pretty easy to use. The best part is that there is no bloatware which makes it better than competitors that come filled with unnecessary apps.

Some functions are different from other smartphones. For example, while other phone show good discover feed when swiped from left to right, Infinix GT 10 Pro shows recent apps, step count, screen time, and more. Taking screenshots is also easy. Three-finger screenshots can be taken by swiping from top to bottom. The smartphone has a nice and easy interface.

Infinix has promised 1 major Android update and 2 security patches which feels less as most brands are giving up to 3 major software updates.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Battery

The Infinix GT 10 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging capability. The 45W charger as well as the USB Cable come bundled inside the box. The battery backup is decent and lasts an entire day easily. Our usage included e-mailing, clicking photos, content streaming, benchmark testing, and more. Despite all these tasks, the battery lasted for an entire day and had to be charged at night only.

Even after a gaming session of 20 minutes, the battery percentage came down by a mere 6%.

If we talk about charging, the 45W charger charges the smartphone from 0 to 100% in around 1 hour.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review Verdict: Should you buy it?

Infinix GT 10 Pro has been made for those who want a gaming phone at an affordable price. The brand has tried to give a Nothing Phone-like design, but it is not even close to Nothing’s design language. However, we should keep in mind that while Nothing Phone 2 is a flagship priced at over 40k, Infinix GT 10 Pro has been priced at under 20k, that too with gaming accessories inside the box.

The smartphone is good in looks and youngsters will love its design. There is an AMOLED display, Dimensity 8050 chipset, which gives a decent performance. The battery backup of the device is good which makes sure that you don’t have to worry about the battery life even during long gaming sessions. Although the camera setup is not up to mark and Infinix promises only 1 Android update, the smartphone will remain updated for at least 2 years.

If a camera and top-notch display are not your priorities and you want a gaming phone within your budget, then Infinix GT 10 Pro can be an option for you.
