Elon Musk has taken a very aggressive approach towards changing Twitter, and the firing of employees along with verification badge monetization is proof of the same. Now, another major step has been taken in the same direction. Twitter has openly announced that all accounts impersonating someone without the declaration of a parody account will be suspended from the platform.

According to a tweet made by Elon Musk, it has been said that the platform is not going to spare any account which is trying to impersonate someone else. The only way these accounts can survive on the platform is by announcing that they are parody accounts. If these accounts fail to do the same, then they will be suspended permanently from the platform. Elon also mentioned that any sort of name change would also lead to the temporary loss of the verified checkmark.

In the past also, Twitter had some of the strongest policies related to tackling impersonation, but the imposters got a fair warning before the suspension of their account. Nevertheless, it is all going to change now as the widespread verification feature of Twitter is on the verge of getting rolled out.

Moreover, Twitter CEO Elon Musk has himself experienced the case of impersonation as multiple verified accounts changed their name and photographs to Elon’s. To take things a level above, Comedians Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman changed their name to Elon Musk to prove the flaws in verification policies. However, This didn’t go well with Elon Musk, as both accounts got suspended from the platform.

Since the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO has been making headlines. Firstly, Musk and Twitter had a war going on for the acquisition, then he fired Paragl Agarwal, ex-CEO of Twitter, and almost half of the workforce from Twitter was removed. However, one thing which has been a relief for the fired employees is that Musk has announced a three months salary compensation for all the fired employees.
