Huawei Mate 20 series has made its debut at the recently concluded IFA. The lineup includes Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 X and a special edition Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is touted to be the flagship device for Huawei this year. These phones feature several unique features and look like Huawei has designed the phone especially to take against giants like Samsung Note 9 and other high-end flagships.
All the Mate 20 series devices have some common features. The most important among them is that this new series of devices encompass the latest Kirin 980 chipset which is the world’s first 7nm chipset. The only other 7nm chipset available on the market is the Apple’s A12 Bionic chip used in iPhone XS, Xs Max and XR . As per Huawei chipset is more powerful and efficient than Snapdragon 845 and provides faster LTE with Cat 2.1 modem. These phones also feature a peculiar nano microSD card support which means that the nano sim card slot doubles as a memory card slot which can house nano-memory cards manufactured by Huawei. All the phones run on the latest Android 9 Pie based EMUI 9.
Let us take a look at the individual specifications of each of these devices.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a large 6.4-inch OLED display with 2K+ resolution and aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio. On the top, Mate 20 Pro features a significant notch which will help the device in unlocking the phone with a 3D face unlock. Mate 20 Pro also features an IP68 water and dust resistance which can be found on the other flagship devices. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor under the screen. Huawei ditches the 3.5 mm jack though on this device. It is powered by a massive 4,200 mAh battery that is coupled with a 40W Huawei SuperCharge Charger. The most striking feature of the devices from series is its unique camera setup which looks like a 2×2 matrix. Huawei went all in with the camera module and included a 40MP Primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup is bolstered with an adaptive dual-tone flash. On the front, this device features a 24MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
