Covid 19 is back in almost 70 countries of the world. The situation in countries like China is alarming with the country registering 10 lakh covid cases and 5000 deaths daily due to the BF. 7 variant. While the neighboring countries have been battling the disease, the government has started keeping India on red alert.  An advisory has been issued to scan all international passengers at the airport and the people of India are asked to use masks and sanitizers again along with following social distancing. The residents are also being requested to take the booster dose of the vaccine if they haven’t taken it yet so that their body gets ready to fight the virus.

Why is Booster Dose important?

The booster dose is important as the protection provided by the first two shots will decrease over time. The booster dose will help the immune system to fight the virus for a long time so those who have not taken their booster shot yet should get it asap. It has become the need of the house as not only China, but countries like Spain, Argentina, and many more have been seeing a rapid surge in daily cases and deaths. The possibilities of the next wave hitting India are strong as well.

Which booster should one get?

The booster dose is simply the third dose of the vaccine you took earlier. For example, if you took a dose of the Covaxin vaccine or Covishield vaccine, you will have to take the booster shot from the same vaccine brand.
