TL; DR
  • Apple has raised prices on MacBooks, iPads, and HomePods in India and the US simultaneously.
  • The Apple TV 4K saw the sharpest percentage increase, jumping 73 percent in India alone.
  • iPhones remain unaffected in both markets, with no price changes announced so far.

Apple’s global price hike, driven by what the company calls “an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage” from AI data centers, has hit India and the US simultaneously. Here is how the affected products compare across both regions: one is the company’s fastest-growing market, while the other is its home market.

Apple Price Hike: India Has Been Hit Worse

It is clear from the table that Indian buyers are absorbing significantly steeper price hikes than the US buyers on almost every product. Take the Apple TV 4K as an example. The product jumped by 73.8% in India but only by 54.3% in the US. The HomePod Mini saw a 45.9% price hike in India, but only a 30.3% price hike in the US. All the other products in the table above follow a similar pattern.

While most of these Apple products were already more expensive in India than in the US, that trend continues after the price hike.
