Google Tango Based Asus Zenfone AR With Daydream VR and 8GB RAM Launched In India

After teasing it for a few weeks, Taiwanese Smartphone manufacturer has finally launched it Zenfone AR smartphone in India. The Zenfone AR is touted as the world’s second smartphone after Lenovo’s Phab 2 Pro to support Google’s Tango technology.

This new technology developed by Google allows user to experience augmented reality (AR) by virtually interacting with the surroundings via smartphones. For instance, you could use an app that could figure out if a particular piece of furniture would fit in your living room space using your camera.

That’s not all, the Zenfone AR has also earned the title of world’s only smartphone that supports Google Daydream VR technology along with Google Tango. As far as the Zenfone AR specifications are concerned, it boasts of a 5.7-inch display QHD AMOLED display with 1440×2560 pixel resolution and 515ppi.

Asus Zenfone AR Launched In India

The phone ropes in Qualcomm’s previous flagship chipset – Snapdragon 821 SoC which is mated to Adreno 530GPU and whopping 8GB of RAM.  It comes with 256GB internal storage and one can further add microSD card up to 256 in the microSD card slot.

To make AR a reality, the Zenfone AR hoists a 23-megapixel rear camera with 4-axis Optical Image Stabilisation, alongwith a host of depth and motion track sensors. For selfie lovers, the ZenFone AR features an 8-megapixel camera on the front.To ensure AR features works flawlessly, it carries a Hexagon 680DSP with HVX is used for accelaration of Mithoon tracking.

The ZenFone AR supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WIFI 802.11ac, GPS, NFC and other connectivity options. The phone runs on Android Nougat-based ZenUI. It is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery.  It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Asus Zenfone AR India Price and Launch Offers

On the launch day, Asus Zenfone AR India price is set at Rs. 49,990 and it will be exclusively available online on Flipkart and offline stores. As an introductory offer, Asus has partnered with Jio to offer 100GB of 4G data alongwith a complimentary Prime membership to each Asus Zenfone AR buyer. The phone will be available starting from today at 4pm.
