Google is only a day away from its annual I/O conference that is expected to begin tomorrow (11th May). The I/O this year is expected to see various important announcements. These include the Pixel Watch, a vanilla version of Wear OS 3, and more.

The biggest expectation is the reveal of Google’s next in the Pixel 6 series, the Google Pixel 6a smartphone. Google Pixel 6a is expected to arrive in India along with being launched internationally as the device has already entered the private testing phase in the country. (courtesy- Mukul Sharma).

The smartphone will be a much-awaited launch for Pixel fans in India who have not had a chance to lay their hands on a Pixel device since Pixel 4a years ago. When it was launched, Pixel 4a received a thunderous response in the country and it still goes out of stock on Flipkart and other portals.

A similar pattern is expected for the Pixel 6 Series as 6a is expected to arrive in India. Pixel 6a will be a smart choice for users looking for a clean UI as most brands currently offer their own Android skins with loads of bloatware and adware.

Google Pixel 6a expected specs

While earlier reports were claiming an upgrade in various departments, the latest leaks have refuted all those rumors. According to Shadow Leak, Pixel 6a will come with the Tensor GS101 chipset that was introduced with Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The Pixel 6a is said to sport a 6.2-inch 1080p OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The tipster claims that Pixel 6a will pack a 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging. It is speculated to feature 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage. The cameras from Pixel 5 and 6 series will be repeated as 6a will feature Sony IMX363 dual camera setup (12MP sensors). It is said to run Android 12 and will have a firm pricing to suit the Indian market.

When the phone officially comes to India remains to be seen, but first, the reveal is expected to take place during the I/O event starting on 11th May.
