A new Google phone, purportedly the Pixel 6a is likely to arrive in India in the first quarter of 2022. The source of this rumor adds that this device could hit the BIS certification site soon.
So, although Google had skipped India in its Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro launch, we could at least get a taste of its latest design, both in terms of the device as well as the chip inside.
Here’s everything you could expect out of the Pixel 6a, if and when it lands in the country:
Google Pixel 6a Specs (Expected)
Pixel 6a is said to borrow the design of its brethren, i.e., the punch-hole display up front and a wide protruding visor housing its rear cameras. The sensors by the back could be 12.2MP Sony IMX363 and a 12MP IMX386. As for the front, it is rumored to be an 8MP IMX355 sensor.
The screen could be flat AMOLED and 6.2-inches in size with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Unlock the device and you’d be interacting with Android 12 with some Pixel-specific treats.
Under the hood, Pixel 6a could be running on Tensor SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. You should get an option to expand this storage further using a microSD card.
Now rumors also suggest this could be the first Pixel A-series device to ditch a headphone jack. So, you may have to use a USB-C-based earphone or go the wireless route.
