If you were waiting for Google’s flagship hardware event, here’s the invite. The virtual event is set to take place on September 30 at 11.30 pm IST. The company hints at the launch of a new Chromecast, smart speaker, and Pixel phones (Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G).

The showstopper is probably going to be the Pixel 5 and here’s what we know of it —

Google Pixel 5 expected features

The Pixel 5 is rumored to sport a 6-inch OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. There is a punch-hole aligned to the top left corner which might house an 8MP selfie shooter. Pivot to the back and a familiar-looking squircle holds the phone’s 12.2MP primary and a 16MP ultrawide secondary lens.

No, Project Soli hardware though. Renders reveal a capacitive fingerprint reader at the back. So, there’s that.

The underlying processor would be Snapdragon 765G aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Pixel 5 is expected to rely on a 4000mAh battery for power. Among other things, the phone might bring Android 11, 15W Qi wireless charging, 5W reverse charging, USB-C port, and mmWave 5G support.

Additionally, a 5G upgrade of Pixel 4a along with Pixel 5s is expected. We also know a fair deal about the 2nd gen Nest Smart Speakers and the “Sabrina” Chromecast dongle as well.
