Google I/O 2020 announcements

Google has announced dates for its annual I/O developer conference. The event will run from May 12 to May 14 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. Compared to 2019, it is being launched a little late.

True to its tradition, the conference dates were revealed by Google through an online puzzle.

A dev by the name Till Kottman was the one to crack the code. Although there were allegation of cheating involved, the decoding was swift. Considering, Google made the puzzle much tougher than the previous year, praises to the developer.

Not soon after, CEO Sunder Pichai made the date and time of the event public via his Twitter account. The venue remains the same as last year.

I/O is more of a developer-centric event wherein the Mountain-Valley company showcases its advancements in software and services. But, that doesn’t mean we won’t see some piece of hardware sprinkled in between.

If you recall, at the Google I/O 2019 event last year, the company introduced Android 10, Nest Hub Max, and Pixel 3a (review) series.

This time around, we hope that Google’s focus will pertain to the rumored Pixel 4a series. Perhaps, we might get more of the Google Assistant wizardry, some news on its fitness band, updates to Android, and Fuchsia (why not)!

There are still about 3 months in Google I/O event. In this interval, we may get to hear more announcements. We will keep updating this event from time to time.
