Recently, Google unveiled its Pixel 6 Series featuring the company’s Tensor chipset and improved specs. Like its predecessors, the Pixel 6 Series also comes with improvements in the camera department. The good news is that like the previous camera, the latest Google Camera 8.3 port can now be installed on your smartphone.
One needs an Android phone running Android 9,10,11 or 12 to download this apk. The camera port currently comes from the Android 12 Beta 4 build, so it is not taken from stable software. It doesn’t work perfectly well as other smartphones don’t have Pixel 6’s hardware too. Some of the features of this camera version might now work on your android phone.
Requirements to meet before your download Google Camera 8.3
- Make sure that your Android runs Android 9,10,11 or 12 and also that it supports Camera2 API.
- This app can only be installed on smartphones having Google Play Services pre-installed, which means it can’t work on Huawei smartphones without google services.
- Also, enable “unknown source installation” on your phone as this app will be downloaded as a sideload and not be installed via an official store (like Play Store). Downloading this includes Risk too, so beware.

Steps to Install Google Camera 8.3 on your smartphone
- Step 1- Make sure the above-mentioned system requirements are met before you try downloading the app.
- Step 2- Install Gapps (Google Apps and its Services) if already not installed.
- Step 3- Enables ‘unknown source installation’.
- Step 4- Download the Compatible package.
- Step 5- Install the APK file, and the camera app is ready to use on your phone.

Pixel 6 Camera Features
Both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have a 50MP primary camera with pixel-binning technology. They also have a 12MP ultrawide sensor along with Pixel 6 Pro having an additional 48MP telephoto lens. Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have 8MP and 11.1MP selfie snappers as well respectively.
Adding to features like Night Sight, Astrophotography, Portrait Mode, and others Google has introduced new features to the Pixel 6 cameras-
Magic Eraser– A useful feature to get a perfect photo after removing the unnecessary objects from the photo.
Face Deblur– This can rectify the face blurriness across photos that will turn useless photos into good memories.
Real Tone-Enables camera to capture most of the skin tones accurately without any manual workload. Will apply to all the images automatically.
Motion Mode– It is useful when one captures a moment while in motion or any object is in motion.

Note– It is unclear if all new features of Pixel 6 will work on other devices or not.
Google Camera 8.1 modded apk is already available for download on major android smartphones for the past few months. It is expected to release a stable GCAM 8.3 apk for the public.
