Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup after several months of beta testing.
The rollout first began in South Korea on May 6, 2026, and users in India, the US, the Philippines, and other regions are now reporting that the update is available as well.
The update is around 4.4 GB in size in several regions and includes the April 2026 security patch. Firmware versions may vary depending on the region and device variant.
This was also one of Samsung’s longest One UI beta programs so far, with multiple beta builds released before the final stable version arrived.
What’s New in One UI 8.5?

One UI 8.5 mainly focuses on refinements and feature upgrades across the system instead of a complete redesign. Samsung has improved animations throughout the UI. App opening and closing animations are smoother now, multitasking transitions look cleaner, and scrolling inside apps feels more fluid.
The lock screen now includes improved live activities with expanded Now Bar support for timers, music playback, sports tracking, navigation, and other ongoing activities.
Galaxy AI features have also been improved. The update also improves system-wide natural language search. Users can search settings or Gallery photos using normal phrases instead of exact keywords.
Quick Share has also been updated with AirDrop support.
