Design and Build

Dizo Smartwatch Pro comes in a flat square design and is available in 2 colors- black and blue. I loved the black one more as I feel black is a color that goes with any outfit or style. Although I have never used a watch with a square dial before this, Smartwatch Pro looked good on my wrist. With its silicon plastic chassis rubber strap, it is soft and comfortable to wear. Weighing only 40 grams, you never feel its weight on your wrist. The only drawback is that when I wore it for a longer period, my wrist started feeling sweaty. And this gets even worse if you wear it outside in Delhi’s humid weather.

The watch comes with an anti-fingerprint coating too, which doesn’t allow it to get smudges and it has very few bezels around it along with a black multi-purpose control button on its left side. The button can perform various functions-

  • Pressing it once allows you to switch the watch on, pause or resume workout, return to the previous screen in an app, and turn off the screen at home screen.
  • Pressing and holding for 15 seconds leads to power on, off or restart.

The watch has DIZO engraved in bold only on the loop of the strap and there are no other signs of any branding or taglines, which is cool because I don’t like to own things that come with huge logos. The watch has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance which allowed me to wear it in heavy rains without the fear of it being damaged. This time, I was a little relieved when it started raining, as I had one accessory less to protect myself from rain. Its scratch-resistant glass and a very responsive touchscreen are two other very important features of the Smartwatch Pro. Once, I used the watch for 15 days continuously but there was not even a single visible scratch on it.

Display and Pairing

Smartwatch Pro comes with a square display with 320 x 385-pixel resolution along with an LCD screen and 286ppi pixel density. Although its display quality is ok, the LCD is not at all favorable when you wear the watch in sunlight. This is because when the sun was shining brightly over my head, the display of the watch was almost invisible. I switched off the auto adjustment option for brightness and set the brightness to maximum, still the brightness was ok. Its Auto-brightness feature is not reliable. But if you are not particular about a very good display then 600 nits’ legibility should be good enough for you. The touch screen works perfectly well.

One of the major advantages I found in this watch is its easy operation. Anyone who is using a smartwatch for the first time can use it without any problems as its operation is very simple and resembles touchscreen smartphones. You can swipe up to browse available apps, swipe down to see phone notifications, swipe left to see popular widgets, and swiping right will expand quick settings.

Moreover, there are 100+ attractive live watch faces to choose from to make your Smartwatch Pro Display. Downloading and syncing the smartwatch pro will app is quick and easy too. When I switched on my watch for the first time, it showed me a QR code and asked me to install Realme Link app on the smartphone I wanted to link to my watch. I installed the app on my phone and scanned the QR code displayed in the watch with the scanner in the Realme link app. The watch immediately connected to my smartphone and after granting certain permissions, it started functioning in sync. You can also connect the watch to your smartphone through Bluetooth. Realme Link app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Performance

Dizo Smartwatch Pro comes with 90 sports modes like walking, running, cycling, badminton, volleyball, weightlifting, etc. Since my workout daily involves fast walking and cycling, this watch helped me track the distance I have covered, time taken, steps, and even calories burnt. Since I already have a step-tracking app on my smartphone, I compared its readings with the smartwatch and they were almost the same. If the step counting app showed a 1.2km walk distance, the smartwatch showed it to be 1.15km which is nearly the same. GPS navigation in the smartwatch helped me track my walking route too even during the dark. You can even customize the order of these workouts according to your needs and your progress gets accurately displayed in the Realme Link app too. You can connect them with other devices like air pods too.

One of the best features I found in this app is SpO2 and a heartrate monitor. SpO2 has been a very important aspect of the human body during covid-19 times and having this monitor attached to your wrist is a boon. My SpO2 readings were almost accurate when I cross-checked them with a SpO2 monitor at home. SmartWatch Pro showed it to be 97% while the monitor showed 98%. The same goes for the heartrate monitor. I could cross-check heart rate readings too as I have a BP and pulse monitor at home. They were almost the same. Besides, Smartwatch pro also has features like breathing check, sleep mode, reminders for taking a break or being sedentary and all these worked fine for me. Sleep timings were accurate and there were regular reminders for taking a break and drinking water too. The biggest drawback of this watch is that you can’t use it to make a call. If it is connected to your smartphone, you can receive a call or reject it, but you can’t make a call through the watch.

Battery life is one more aspect that is good about this watch. It has a powerful 300mAh lithium-ion battery that worked for 14 days (for moderate use) without any recharge. All my notifications were on, I used it to track activity, listen to music and receive calls but still, I did not have to charge it for 13 days. To charge the watch, I had to place the watch on the given charging base and make sure that both metal pads on the back of the watch are aligned with the metal tips on the base.

Review Verdict: Should you buy Dizo Watch Pro?

In the 5000-price range, Dizo Watch Pro gives certain very useful features like a SpO2 monitor, sleep monitor, and good tracking capabilities. It has elegant watch faces, a powerful battery, responsive touchscreen, IPS68, and Gorilla Glass which makes it durable and easy to use. The only drawbacks being an unreliable auto-brightness feature, sweaty strap after longer duration wearing, notifications are delayed, calls can’t be made and its charger has to be carried with it. All these, however, can be ignored if its price tag is considered. At 5000 Rs. You can seriously consider buying this one if you want to own your first smartwatch or gift it to a teenager in your family.
