BlackBerry Claims The DTEK50 Is “The Most Secure Android Phone”

0

After a deluge of unconfirmed leaks and rumors, BlackBerry has outed its second Android Smartphone – The Blackberry DTEK50. The struggling Canadian Smartphone maker claims that its DTEK50 is the “world’s most secure Android smartphone.”

And that’s also the explanation for the weird name BB is using.

The handset is running BlackBerry’s DTEK software, which monitors your security rating and protects you against malware by tracking your apps. The DTEK software also notifies you when your Microphone is turned on without your consent or when someone is using your phone camera without your knowledge.

Other BlackBerry Software strengths like BlackBerry Hub, Keyboard, Devise Search, Gesture controls are also part of the software package.

On the hardware side of things, the BB DTEK50 is a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4. You get a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 617 octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP+8MP camera combination, Android Marshmallow as base software and a modest 2610mAh battery.  On the outside, BlackBerry has incorporated some design changes, the primary one being the customized back panel.

Partnering with TCL (Alcatel’s parent company) is what enables BlackBerry to keep the price in check. The BB DTEK50 will retail for $299 (Approx 20,000 INR), which is significantly less expensive compared to other BlackBerry offerings.
