Finally, Xiaomi Mi A2 (review) has entered the Indian smartphone space. For a change, Xiaomi has taken a slightly different retail approach with its second generation Android One. For the first time in Xiaomi’s four years long history in the country, Xiaomi is offering its phone on pre-order. In fact, the Mi A2 pre-orders have already begun and Amazon and will be hosting the first sale on August 16.

On paper, the Mi A1 successor appears to be a stellar device with the right combination and hardware. However, the phone lacks some basic essentials like a 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card slot, and also has a mediocre battery. If you really can’t give up on these staples, you will have to look for a Mi A2 alternatives. Well, to assist you in your search, we have prepared a list of phones which are worth considering.

1. Honor Play | Price Rs 19,999

Huawei sub-brand recently launched its Honor Play in the Indian market. The Chinese smartphone maker is pitching it as a mid-range gaming device and it’s biggest highlights being GPU Turbo technology.The Honor Play GPU turns on turbo boost at the hour of the intensive gaming.

Asus’ first ever stock Android phone the Zenfone Max Pro M1 can also be considered as a Mi A2 alternative in India. Barring the software, it’s specs-sheet reads almost similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with dependable 2018 mid-range performing chip – the Snapdragon 636 which is coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The costliest variant of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 features a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Asus has also given a dedicated microSD so with Max Pro M1 you won’t have to compromise on dual-SIM functionality. The phone boast of a massive 5,000mAh battery which is highest in this list.

5. Nokia 6.1 Plus aka Nokia X6 | Expected Price: Rs 18,999

The Nokia 6.1 Plus India debut is destinated on the 21st of August. HMD Global has already launched Nokia 6.1 Plus in countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Russia where it received tremendous response from the consumers.

We expect the Nokia 6.1 Plus India price is to be at somewhere around Rs.18,000 which will make it a good alternative to the Mi A2. As for the specs, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is the first HMD Global phone that sports notch display. It features a 5.8-inch Full HD+ with a 19:9 aspect ratio. 6. Moto G6 Plus | Expected Price: Rs 16,999

Lenovo- Moto isn’t the most talked about brands in 2018 but Moto G-series fan still has high hopes with Moto G6 Plus. The Phone is already out in the west but is expected to make India debut soon. We expect Lenovo to price it around Rs 16,999 which will make it a competitor to the Mi A2.

The Moto G6 Plus boasts of a stunning all-glass construction with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC rocking under the hood. The phone has a 5.7-inch FullHD+ display which has trendy 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone runs a near-stock build of Android 8.0 Oreo, with Motorola’s useful customizations garnished on the top.
