Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Ather Energy has unveiled the Ather 450 Apex, representing the pinnacle of the startup’s maiden scooter platform. This latest model is the quickest and most powerful offering from the brand to date. With a price tag of Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ather 450 Apex holds the title of the most expensive Ather model produced so far.

Production of the Apex will be limited, making it available for purchase for approximately eight to nine months. Bookings have been open for a few weeks, and deliveries are set to commence in March 2024.

450 Apex Specifications and Powertrain

While the 450 Apex maintains much of the standard 450X’s features, Ather has introduced distinctive visual elements to set it apart. The scooter sports a unique two-layer ‘Indium Blue’ paint scheme, complemented by contrasting orange accents on the wheels, logos, and frame. A playful addition to the 450 Apex is the incorporation of nearly transparent side panels, reminiscent of the translucent panels initially introduced with the Ather 450X Series 1.

The 450 Apex, with its upgraded motor, achieves a peak power of 7kW (0.6 kW higher than the standard 450X), while maintaining a consistent torque output of 26 Nm. Introducing an advanced ‘Warp+’ ride mode, this Ather model proudly holds the title of the first to reach a top speed of 100 kmph. Noteworthy performance improvements include a 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds, nearly half a second quicker than the standard scooter. Ather also asserts a substantial 30% enhancement in roll-on acceleration, ensuring a swifter 40-80 kmph sprint.

Experience a groundbreaking upgrade in our electric scooter technology – a sophisticated regenerative braking system paired with the revolutionary ‘Magic Twist’ energy management algorithm. Ather proudly unveils a system capable of effortlessly bringing the scooter to a complete stop without the need for brake lever inputs. What sets it apart is the consistent and seamless performance, irrespective of the battery’s state-of-charge (SoC). Notably, this integration has resulted in a marginal increase in the certified range, now standing at an impressive 157 km (150 km for the standard model). Discover the future of electric scooter innovation, where efficiency meets extended range for an unparalleled riding experience.

The Apex inherits the 3.7 kWh battery pack, suspension, and braking system from the 450X. Although lacking an anti-lock braking system (ABS), it features standard tyre pressure monitoring for safety. Buyers receive a unique helmet matching the scooter’s color scheme as a special bonus.
