Asus Zenfone Zoom with 13MP 3X Optical Zoom Camera launched at 37,999 INR

Asus is betting big on its latest photography-centric phone Zenfone Zoom, the slimmest phone (12mm) with 3X optical zoom. The handset was first introduced at CES 2015 and comes almost a year late to India. The handset will retail on Flipkart for 37,999 INR. With Zoom flash and Zoom tripod bundle, you can buy it for 39,999 INR.

The phone claims to be world’s “most advanced photography-focused smartphone” with its prominent features being a 13-megapixel camera with 3X optical zoom, laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, a 10-element lens designed by Hoya and True Tone Flash. The rear camera sensor has been sourced from Panasonic.

The company promises a DSLR like photography experience with Zenfone Zoom which is also equipped with a 5-megapixel camera at the front for selfies.

Speaking of other specifications, the ZenFone Zoom includes a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution along with a 403ppi and Gorilla Glass 4 for protection against scratches. The phone is powered by an Intel Atom Z3590 SoC coupled with PowerVR G6430 GPU and 4 gigs of RAM. It comes with 128GB internal storage which can be bumped up to 128GB via a microSD card.

The come out of the box running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus ZenUI layered on top. It is packed with a 3000mAh battery which can’t be replaced or removed by user. In terms of connectivity, it supports e 4G, Wi-Fi, WiFi-direct, GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0 port.
