Asus Zenfone Max Upgraded With 615 SoC And Marshmallow Launched Starting Rs. 9,999

Asus India introduced Zenfone Max in January 2016, which was lauded for its massive battery, and went on to become one of the best-selling Zenfone model in India. 5 months down the line, Asus decided to update its innards to make it more competitive under the budget range of 10K. The new Max is set to hit retail shelves of both offline and online stores in the coming days. Asus has priced 2GB variant at Rs. 9,999 and 3GB variant at 12,999.

Asus Zenfone Max Specification

In comparison to original Asus Zenfone Max, the new variant is packed with more powerful chipset in the form of octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8939615 ticking at 1.5GHz. Unlike original variant which came with Aderno 306GPU, the bumped up variant features more powerful Adreno 405PGU with support to OpenGL ES 3.1. Asus has also upgraded on-board storage and it new Max comes with 32GB against 16GB of original handset. The new Max runs on Android Marshmallow whereas its predecessor was running on Android Lollipop based Zen UI.

The new Zenfone Max under the hood features 2/3gigs of RAM and boasts off a 5.5-inch IPS display up front with a running resolution of 720 x 1280 pixel resolutions. On the camera front, it houses a 13-megapixel camera along with dual LED flash and laser autofocus. Like its predecessor, it is backed by a mammoth 5000mAh battery which you can also be used to charge other gadgets.
