Asus Zenfone 5 With iPhone X inspired Notch Leaked

0

Apple continues to be the trendsetter for smartphone makers even in 2018 as brands continue to imitate its features and design including the infamous iPhone X notch. Yes, you read it right. Reportedly, the Asus Zenfone 5 will flaunt a notch above its display.

The latest Zenfone 5 leaked image clearly shows entire real estate of the phone including iPhone X style notch. Asus notch implementation isn’t very different from the one in the tenth edition iPhone. The Taiwanese company packs the earpiece and front-facing camera module in the notch a well, but there isn’t any face recognition hardware here.

If we take previous leaks into the account, the Asus Zenfone 5 rear design will also be inspired by iPhone X. It seems to feature a glass back with two vertically positioned rear cameras, followed by an LED flash. The rear panel will also include a fingerprint scanner along with Asus branding. Apart from this, the leaked render also reveals a single speaker grille and USB Type-C port. There is one aspect where Asus doesn’t feel inspired by Apple is the inclusion of 3.5mm audio jack.

Asus will be launching the Zenfone 5 series at the Mobile World Congress event later this month. It is expected to line up the Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 Lite and Zenfone 5 Max smartphones.

Asus Zenfone 5 Expected Specifications

If the leaks are anything to go by, the Zenfone 5 is likely to employ a Snapdragon 636 mobile processor and up to 6GB of RAM. Some reports suggest that Asus could also announce another variant of the Zenfone 5 and it will be powered by Snapdragon 670 SoC, which Qualcomm will unveil at MWC 2018. Unlike some other brands, Asus won’t be launching any Snapdragon 845 smartphone from MWC podium. Asus is expected to launch its 2018 flagship by the name of Zenfone 5Z sometime in June 2018.
