The rumors around an Asus ROG Phone 3 successor has been simmering for a bit now. If speculations are true, it could be called ROG Phone 5 for numerology reasons. Now we have already seen the phone’s rearview in a leaked photo. It has got the same signature design with etched lines and geometric patterns. But if you had paid attention, you must have noticed a small rectangle-ish portion in the middle. That’s a secondary display.

Yup. Here, take a glance at this secondary display in action.

In the above video, you can see the display light up with animation for games and call notifications. This seems to work like the AniMe Matrix on Asus’s ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop (review). We have also seen the light show on the back of Nubia Red Magic 3S (review).

Under the hood, it is likely to be geared by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset along with power from a 6,000 mAh battery bolstered by 65W rapid charging. On the camera front, you may expect triple cameras, the primary one being a 64MP snapper. Other safe bets are at least 8GB of RAM and Android 11 UI.

We will have more details in the days to come. So, watch this space.
