Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular Edition Coming To India With Airtel and Jio On May 11

Apple Watch Series 3 that was announced last year, is all set to make its India debut on May 11. The major highlight of the smartwatch is its ability stay connected with internet using cellular network independently.

So, if you get yourself an Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular version you can use maps or play music without carrying your phone around with you.

To mark the launch, Airtel and Reliance Jio have partnered with Apple for the wearable. Both telecom operators are said to offer support for the Watch Series 3 built-in SIM (eSIM) similar to the one Cellular variant of the watch that retails in the US.

Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular Price, Availability, and Pre-Order Date

Although the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular variant will launch in India on May 11, potential buyers can pre-book it from May 4 onwards. The watch can be pre-booked from Jio.com, Reliance Digital stores, Jio stores, and Airtel’s official Website.

While there is no information on Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular India price, it is speculated to be around Rs. 35,000.

Watch Series 3: Airtel and Jio Tariff Plans and Offers

The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) will be announced with some introductory offers. Airtel has included a special offer that could be availed with every purchase of wearable whereas Jio has announced a service called the “JioEverywhereConnect”. Under which, Jio users will be able to use the same Jio number on both iPhone and Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular.

Additionally, Jio will not charge anything extra for the wearable service and you can continue to use it under your existing plan. For Airtel users, on the other hand, the watch will work only with postpaid users on Infinity plans.

How To Activate Apple Watch Series 3 in India with Airtel and Jio service

To activate the Airtel and Jio service with Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), users will first need to update iPhone to iOS 11.3 and watchOS 4.3, then tap Settings on iPhone > General > About and follow the prompt to update to the latest carrier settings.
