Apple New HomePod with a design overhaul to launch in 2024: Report

Apple recently launched 2^nd generation HomePod smart speaker that is getting good reviews from users around the world. But, it seems the brand is all set to take HomePod lineup to next level as it is planning to launch a new redesigned HomePod in 2024. Latest reports claim that Apple will launch a new HomePod with a 7-inch touchscreen display, as reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the Chinese display solutions provider, Tianma will supply panels for the redesigned HomePod. In his post, the analyst claims that the new HomePod display will offer deeper integration with other hardware products from Apple. By using smart displays, Apple’s HomePod will aim to give a tough fight to Google’s Nest Hub and Amazon’s Echo Show.

Recently, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that the tech giant is working on a new HomePod model with a display and camera and multi-touch functionality. It will be a combined Apple TV and HomePod device. Also, the brand is working on a HomePod with a screen mounted on a robotic arm and a new HomeOS platform.

Apple 2^nd generation HomePod: Specs & Price

In January 2023, Apple launched its second generation HomePod at Rs. 32,900 in India. The latest smart speaker is powered by Apple’s in-house S7 SoC and comes with Siri, built-in sensors, and EQ microphones. The speaker comes with 5 tweeters compared to the 7 tweeters on the original variant and this one has 4 microphones instead of the 6 that were spotted in the previous generation.

The tech brand also added a 4-inch high-excursion woofer to the HomePod which gives better bass. The HomePod 2 also offers better computational audio, supports spatial audio with Dolby Atmos, and will also support multi-room AirPlay and stereo pairing.
