Apple’s biggest event of the year 2021 is almost here. Like every year, the company is expected to update its product catalog with some new launches and upgrades. Apple’s primary focus continues to be the iPhone series which will see the launch of iPhone 13 tomorrow. Other expected launches include Apple Watch, iPads, and AirPods 3.

Apple iPhone Launch event: when and where to watch

The Apple iPhone 13 launch will be an online event much like last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event will be live-streamed on Apple.com and on YouTube. The time for the Apple event is 10.30 pm IST. Click on the link below to watch the live streaming of the event.

Let us see what we can expect from this event.

The iPhone 13 series

This time around, four new models are expected in this series with familiar configurations. It starts with iPhone 13 mini through the iPhone 13 to iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The biggest upgrade in this series is expected to be to its display. The two Pro models are said to feature 120Hz LTPO OLED panels (first iPhones with a high fresh rate screen) while the other two will continue with 60Hz for this year.

Expected prices of upcoming iPhones

Charging is also said to get a speed boost to 25W from the current 20W. Wireless charging will be faster as well and since current models support 15W, so new ones having 20W or even 25W wouldn’t be unexpected. Although no major upgrades are expected in the camera department, there still might be some slight additions that will be known during the launch only. Reports state that the ultrawide camera is getting an improved lens with autofocus. All four models might have LiDAR, though there are rumors that only the pro models might be getting this upgrade.

Leaked Renders of iPhone 13

iPhone 13 mini is said to arrive in 6 colors- black, blue, purple, pink, white, and special product red. The phone will have 128GB, 255GB, and 512GB storage options. iPhone 13 will have 128GB/256GB/512GB options while the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max might be having not just 128GB/256GB/512GB models but also a whopping 1TB of storage as well.

A new development states that iPhone 13 might be working outside the cell coverage-a satellite link that will allow users to send messages in case of an emergency. Apple’s A15 chipset used in this line-up will be manufactured on TSMC’S refined N5P node. This means that it promises a modest 5% performance increase or 10% power savings compared to its previous chip. Apple might also be bringing an always-on-feature to the screen, with minimal impact on battery life.

The camera around the back is said to be getting larger, an indication for an improved telephoto lens. If reports are to be believed then iPhone 13 series will be more expensive than the iPhone 12 series.

iOS15, iPad OS 15, Watch OS 8 and tvOS 15 upgrades

All these upgrades are currently in beta testing mode at the moment, which will conclude with the launch of the new phones, watches, and maybe tablets. Once they are launched, users can check which older devices are supported and which are not.

AirPods 3

Although Apple’s AirPods continue to remain one of the most popular wireless earbuds, they need a new upgrade since their launch back in 2016. So, there are chances that Apple might use this September event to give them a significant boost. These may support spatial audio and perhaps even noise cancellation. AirPods 3 Pro though will not be launched this year.

Apple Watch 7 Series

The series 7 will come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. They will use the same wrist straps but the size bump and slimmer bezels may lead to larger screens. It is expected to change up the design with flat sides to make it similar to iPhones and iPads. The new watch series is also expected to have an increased battery size at the cost of adding new features.

Apple Watch 7 Series is also expected to bring an improved Apple S7 chipset with better UWB support. The combination of the new chipset and the new battery may lead to better endurance too.

iPad Mini 6 and affordable iPad

A compact iPad mini 6 featuring an 8.4-inch Liquid Retina Display running at 60Hz is supposedly in the works. It will measure 206 x 138 x 6.1mm and is said to arrive in a variety of colors like space grey, silver, rose gold, green, and sky blue.

It will have an Apple A14 chipset that will make it the first iPad mini to offer 5G connectivity. Storage options might be 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

As a part of the major design changes, the Touch ID fingerprint reader is expected to move from the front bezel to the side slate. iPad mini 6 might also support Apple Pencil 3 which is being talked about. iPad Mini 6 and other affordable iPads are in the works but these two will most probably not be launched on the 14th of September as long as Apple doesn’t decide to pull up a surprise launch tomorrow.

No new Macbooks

Although new Macbooks are said to be in the works, they are not expected at tomorrow’s event. However, when they are launched, new Macbooks are anticipated to feature a new design language and beefier M1X processor. They will come in 14- and 16-inch sizes and might have Mini LED displays. Apple’s “Pro” level Macbooks are rumored to come with a new magnetic MagSafe charger, an SD card slot, additional thunderbolt ports, and even an HDMI port.

Apple Launch Event: When and Where to Watch
