E-commerce giant Amazon unveiled new smart speakers in India, dubbed as the Amazon Echo Spot. What differentiates the Echo Spot from other Alexa-powered Echo line up – the Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot – is that it has a touchscreen display in the middle to show content.
The launch seems to be a jab on Google’s smart speaker, Google Home, and Google Home Mini, which were recently introduced here. A display on speakers adds another dimension to your interaction with smart speakers and counts as a useful feature in our book.
Amazon Echo Spot Specifications
Talking about the Amazon Echo Spot features, it sports a 2.5-inch round touchscreen display and is backed by Alexa AI assistant that follows voice commands. The device lets you watch videos from compatible services, see music lyrics, weather forecast, and to-do list. All this on top of earlier Echo services such as listen to the news, get a response to queries, set alarms, control smart home devices, and more.
Not to forget, the Echo Spot also has far-field microphones that can recognize your voice even from a distance. It can even sync with other speakers via Bluetooth or audio line-out.
Amazon has also bundled the Echo Spot with some India-specific apps and services such as Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, TuneIn, Zomato, Ola, Urban Clap, and more.
Amazon Echo Spot Price, Offers, and Availability
The Amazon Echo Spot India price is set at Rs. 12,999, but as part of the introductory offer, it is available at a discounted price of Rs. 10,499 only on Amazon.in. You can get a discount of Rs. 1000 if you buy two of them, and can also avail extra 10-percent off using ICICI cards.
The smart speaker has been launched in two hues: black and white.
