Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 smartwatches launched globally

A month since their debut, Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 has been finally introduced in the global market. The smartwatches bring features such as AMOLED display, built-in GPS, 24×7 heart rate tracking, and Blood Oxygen monitoring. They differ from each other in terms of looks and battery life.

Amazfit GTR 2 vs GTS 2 differences

GTR 2 sports a 1.39-inch AMOLED round display. You can pick it in two variants –

  • Sport edition with an aluminum chassis and a 22mm silicone strap
  • Classic edition with a stainless steel body and a 22mm leather strap

GTS 2, on the other hand, flaunts a 1.65-inch AMOLED rectangular display. It is available in an aluminum body and a 20mm silicone strap.

In terms of battery life, the 417mAh battery within the GTR 2 lasts for 14 days on regular use and 38 days on power-saving mode. Meanwhile, the GTS 2 with its smaller 246mAh battery can live for a week in normal use and up to 20 days in basic watch mode.

Lastly, the difference in battery size (without the strap) makes the GTR 2 the heftier one at 39g for the Classic version and 31.5g for the Sport edition. Comparatively, GTS 2 is lighter at 24.7g.

Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 features

Both the smart wearables pack BioTracker 2 PPG 24×7 heart-rate sensor, Blood Oxygen monitoring, built-in GPS, 5ATM water resistance, accelerometer, gyro, air pressure sensor, ambient light sensor, and 12 activity modes (to be updated to 90 soon). They run on Bluetooth 5.0 and come with a speaker and microphone (for receiving and answering calls). Through an OTA update, the watches will also get Alexa support. There is 4 gig of RAM to store music.

Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 price and availability

Amazfit GTR 2 will launch on 30 October in the UK at GBP159, while the GTS 2 will hit the stores on 15 November for GBP159.

In the US the Amazfit GTR 2 will be available from 30 October priced at USD179, while the GTS 2 costs USD179 and will be on shelves starting 1 November.

The watches are expected to arrive in India and the rest of the world before long.
