Last week an alleged Redmi Pro 2 leaked image with specs was spotted on Weibo which pointed the rumored phone as Redmi flagship phone. The image suggested that the phone will include a pop-up camera and Snapdragon 855 SoC. The company General Manager Lu Weibing denied the presence of a pop-up camera in the upcoming phone Redmi flagship.

Weibing in his response to a user on Weibo said that the rumors implying pop-up selfie camera on the upcoming Redmi flagship aren’t accurate.

Redmi Pro 2 With Snapdragon 855 Allegedly Spotted, May Feature Pop-Up Camera
Source: Weibo

A couple of months back General Manager Lu Weibing stated that the company is developing a new flagship Redmi phone that will feature the Snapdragon 855 SoC.More recently the Xiaomi head  Lei Jun was allegedly spotted using the yet to be launch Redmi phone.

If reports are true, the unannounced Redmi phone is internally addressed as the “855 Flagship”. Other than featuring the Qualcomm’s top of the line processor, the Redmi flagship is most likely to offer premium specs, a metal body and a near bezel-less display panel.

If some unverified rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi could repeat the 48MP camera which it has used in recent phones lately. Ergo, the back panel could also house a dual camera setup atleast. Though, there is no info on the front camera. Maybe Xiaomi could go for a punch-hole screen for the Redmi flagship.

We are yet to receive further design details, specifications, and even its release date. As its too early to validate any rumors up online, we recommend you to intake them with a grain of salt.
