Xiaomi reportedly working on a 200MP camera phone: Know details

We could soon get a Xiaomi phone with a 200MP camera sensor. The revelation comes from a popular online leakster Digital Chat Station who says that Xiaomi is gearing up for a smartphone equipped with a massive 200MP rear camera system.

Presently, smartphones feature a maximum sensor capacity of 1 0 8MP and we have 108MP phones from brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, and Motorola. Also, Xiaomi tops the list with the most device count featuring a 108MP camera sensor. So, if the new reports hold any water, then the 200MP camera-wielding Xiaomi phone isn’t far-fetched.

Furthermore, this is expected to be a Samsung ISOCELL sensor. Another reputed tipster Ice Universe had earlier hinted about Samsung’s 200MP camera sensor from its ISOCELL unit. The alleged sensor is said to have a 0.64μm pixel size which is much lesser than Samsung’s 1.4μm-sized pixels in the ISOCELL GN2 sensor.

So, besides Xiaomi, you could witness the Samsung 200MP camera phone in the near future, possibly as an upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Having shared all that, do note that there’s been no official announcement from both Xiaomi and Samsung about the 200MP camera sensor technology. So, we suggest digesting the news with a pinch of salt.
