Tecno Camon 16 Premier Details
Tecno has released its Camon 16 Premier in the mid-range tier of smartphones. The Camon 16 series is the successor of the Camon 15 series and comes straight from the house of Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno Mobile. Adding to the phone’s configuration, it comes fitted with a 6.9-inch dual-punch hole display with FHD resolution(1080x2460px). Tecno Camon 16 Premier runs on the Android 10 OS with MediaTek’s Helio G90T SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. For the camera performance, the phone sports a 64MP quad-rear camera set up and dual cameras(48MP+8MP) at the front. The phone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support of a fast 33W charger out of the box. Let’s read more about Tecno Camon 16 Premier details closely and see how the phone performs against its competitors.
Display and Camera
Tecno Camon 16 Premier comes fitted with a big 6.9-inch color IPS LCD multitouch panel with a dual-punch hole notch. The screen has an FHD+(1080x2460px) resolution with a pixel density of 374PPI. Based on this configuration, the display is expected to produce decent visuals with sharp pictures. The screen has a full view display with fewer bezels and a thin notch at the bottom. The display is HDR10+ compliant and has a decent size with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
Tecno Camon 16 Premier has a 64MP quad rear camera set up with an LED flash in a square island. The primary 64MP(f/1.9)shooter is followed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP dedicated video camera and a depth sensor of 2MP with autofocus. For selfies and video calls, the dual-punch hole houses a 48MP camera and an 8MP camera with a flash and supports autofocus. As far as the video recording is concerned, you may record UHD 4K videos@30fps. You may expect to capture decent pictures from the various cameras the phone offers.
Performance and Battery
Tecno Camon 16 Premier runs of the Android 10 operating system with HIOS6.0 on top of it. Under the hood, the phone houses a 12nm based MediaTek’s Helio G90T SoC with 8-performing cores that clocks at 2.05GHz. It has an ample 8GB of RAM for assisting the background and multitasks whereas Mali-G76 MC4 GPU renders graphics for demanding apps and games. Useful sensors including Ambient Light, G-Sensor, Proximity, Gyroscope, E-Compass are present. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock.
Tecno Camon 16 Premier is backed by a 4,500mAh Li-ion battery underneath. We usually see Tecno phones with bigger batteries compared to this phone. You may expect a day of power back from the battery under average usage. Also, the phone supports a fast 33W charger out of the box.

User Reviews
Best in the market!
This is an awesome mobile. After using it for 2 days, I can say that this is just amazing mobile and gives full premium features. The camera is one of best and with 960 FPS shooting it is extremely superior. Super night mode is just amazing. Display is 90 Hz and very smooth. Processor Mediatek G90T is very fast and everything works without any lag. Front camera is very nice too. The overall OS experience is very nice. 5 star phone. Only con is it is little pricey but the premium quality which it offers actually justifies the price.

Mediatek Helio G90T addition to the phone makes this the best phone in the entire tecno series. 5000mAh battery with 8GB RAM are good value added features as well

What I like about this phone is that for the first time on a Tecno smartphone, you get a 90Hz refresh rate along with a really good Helio G90T processor from Mediatek. And what's cool is that it comes with super-fast charging and reviews online show that you can juice it up to more than 70% from 0 in about 30 minutes which is a really good speed. And of course, the major change seen in the Tecno Camon 16 Premier is the quad-camera setup. The only downside I can see is that it has a downward-facing mono speaker which might be a bit of an issue while playing games but it’s yet to be seen how that will fare.
