Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro review: Mini Me... ssenger

#ExpertReview
By GSM Arena15 years ago
It sometimes makes sense to start big and go smaller. In all honesty, their top Android phone doesnt quite stand up to the most recent competition. But since the original XPERIA X10, Sony Ericsson have been narrowing their focus  trying to make a difference. And in the end, the X8 and the two mini droids may pay off better than the flagship.

The X10 mini pro is perhaps the smallest smartphone / QWERTY messenger  but by no means a lesser smartphone package than most. If it wasnt for the somewhat steep price it would be the easiest to recommend. Dont forget though that the X10 mini pro has only been selling for a week or so. And the price will drop to more reasonable levels sooner rather than later.
  • Ultra compact body
  • Physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, 3G with HSPA
  • Customized Android OS v1.6 with Timescape UI
  • 2.55" capacitive touchscreen of QVGA resolution
  • Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz CPU
  • 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and VGA video recording
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • Built-in GPS receiver and digital compass
  • Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and turn-to-mute
  • Standard miniUSB port for charging and data
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • microSD card slot with support for up to 8GB (a 2GB card included)
  • 3.5mm-compatible audio jack
  • Android market
  • User-replaceable battery (as opposed to the X10 mini)
  • QVGA resolution doesnt do Android graphics justice and limits the number of compatible apps
  • Dated OS version
  • Limited Android homescreen functionality
  • No alternative battery covers bundled
  • No smart dialing
  • No Bluetooth file transfers from the gallery
  • No Flash support for the web browser
  • Basic camera interface and features
  • Web browser lacks intuitive zooming methods

Phone was good but Battery backup is not good.

The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro battery backup was not good, and also lacks camera-editing options, and its small size can hamper usability.

DON'T EVEN THINK....

THE WORST XPERIA EVER MADE. I'VE TRIED IT, THE QWERTY KEYBOARD DOESN'T LAST LONG, THE PHONE IS SMALL, QWERTY KEYBOARD KEYS ARE SO SMALL AND HARD TO TYPE. NOT THE PHONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY.
