After maintaining an offline exclusive approach for the most part of 2016, the company has now also shifted focus to the online wing of Indian smartphone market. The Panasonic P85 is one such handset that will cater to entry-level users and will retail exclusively on Flipkart.
With a 5-inch HD display, the phone is quite compact. It flaunts a metal finish but it's actually fully plastic phone. A broad black strip runs around the display that looks hideous especially on the Gold variant which has a white fascia. The display, in itself, is quite vibrant and feels very reasonable for the price.
The highlight of the handset is its beefy 4000mAh battery that can comfortably last for a day of moderate to heavy usage.
The Panasonic P85 is propelled by a 1.0GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The configuration should suffice if you are a basic user. For photography, the handset has an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The camera performance was better than what we had initially expected and shouldn't be a dealbreaker in this budget.
The software is Android Marshmallow based software (Interface is close to stock with some added features like Turbo download that combines WiFi and Data speeds). Other features include 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and WiFi. The Lowest price of Panasonic P85 in India is 6,499 INR at the time of writing.
