Nokia C7-00 Expert Reviews
Nokia C7 review: Rise and shine
Symbian hasnt seen any groundbreaking changes in its recent history and Anna isn't one either - like the jump from ^1 to ^3, it's an incremental update that improves things but leaves some rough edges untouched.
Don't get us wrong - Anna is the best that Symbian has to offer right now (until Belle arrives anyway) and people with an N8, a C7, C6-01 or E7 should update as soon as possible - the browser alone is a good enough reason. read more →
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
- Penta-band 3G with 10.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA support
- 10.5mm slim body
- 3.5" 16M-color AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 640 x 360 pixel resolution
- 8 megapixel fixed-focus camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video @ 25fps recording; geotagging, face detection, smart zoom in video
- Symbian^3 is still below Android and iOS usability standards (especially camera UI and web browser)
- Camera lacks auto focus, oversharpens images by default
- Relatively limited 3rd party software availability
- No office document editing (without a paid upgrade)
- Battery life is not on par with the best in business
A slimmed-down and cheaper version of the N8 makes its debut
Some aspects of the Nokia C7 are great. We like the good battery life; the screen is sharp and clear, if a little small; and there are plenty of apps on board. We find the three home screen system is perfectly liveable, and the camera and video playback are both well above average.
But Symbian^3 might not be enough to lift Nokia from its current popularity levels into the stratosphere. We feel that Nokia has tried to box clever by retaining much of the old S60 look and feel in order to prevent forcing a steep learning curve on existing fans. read more →
- Good camera
- FM transmitter
- Good video playback
- Neat build
- Great battery life
- Poor Twitter/Facebook integration with contacts
- Symbian^3 disappoints
- Web browser issues
- Can't force constant Wi-Fi connection
- Difficult to get to microSD card
Nokia C7 Review
The Nokia C7 is a good phone, and that's without all its bells and whistles. It's simple to make calls on, and makes the phoning experience a pleasure. Add to this the functionality of Symbian^3 which admittedly won't be for everyone, and the fantastic multimedia support, and you've got a pretty nice package. The build quality is also great, and we would say it comes in at very fair price-point to boot. read more →
- Solid build quality
