TL;DR
- The effective price is Rs 96,325 taking into account the exchange and bank offers.
- A MacBook Air M2 trade-in and a PNB card are required.
- The device features an M4 chip, 16GB of RAM, and an 18-hour battery life.
Apple’s M4 MacBook Air has recently increased in price, but today I’ll show you how to get it for under Rs 1 lakh. That’s correct.
The version of the laptop with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD normally retails for Rs 1,31,900 on Flipkart, but at the moment it can be obtained for Rs 96,325 by combining two of the current offers, representing a discount of Rs 35,575 and thus bringing Apple’s most popular ultrabook down below the Rs 1 lakh threshold.
Here’s how it works, the criteria you need to meet, and whether it’s worth buying.
The Flipkart Deal: Price Breakdown
Flipkart has two offers you can stack on the MacBook Air M4:
- Exchange bonus: You can get up to Rs 31,375 for an eligible MacBook Air M2. The amount depends on your old laptop’s model, condition, and age.
- Bank card discount: You get an instant Rs 4,200 off if you use a Punjab National Bank (PNB) credit or debit card.
Apply both offers to the Rs 1,31,900 listing price and here’s what you get:
| Component | Amount (Rs) |
| Listed retail price | 1,31,900 |
| Exchange bonus (max) | -31,375 |
| PNB card discount | -4,200 |
| Effective final price | 96,325 |
Flipkart also offers zero-cost EMI options with monthly payments of up to Rs 4,711 over up to 24 months. This reduces the initial cost should you choose to pay in installments.
A big Caveat: Exchange Value Varies
You won’t necessarily receive Rs 96,325. The highest exchange bonus that Flipkart will give for a MacBook Air M2 in excellent condition is Rs 31,375. Your trade-in value will be lower if your current laptop has scratches, battery problems, or is an older model; in some cases, the decrease will be substantial.
The Punjab National Bank card discount is only available if you have a Punjab National Bank card; if you don’t, the price rises to Rs 1,00,525, assuming you receive the full exchange value.
MacBook Air M4: What You’re Getting
The MacBook Air fitted with the M4 chip is Apple’s entry-level laptop, yet it isn’t basic. The main specifications are as follows:
- Chip: Apple M4 (10-core CPU, up to 10-core GPU)
- Memory: 16GB unified memory
- Storage: 512GB SSD
- Display: 13.6-inch Liquid Retina, 500 nits brightness
- Battery: Up to 18 hours of video playback
- Ports: Two Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C, MagSafe 3, 3.5mm headphone jack
- Colors: Sky Blue, Silver, Starlight, Midnight
The M4 performs faster than the earlier M2 and M3 models, offering improved CPU and GPU performance, a more powerful Neural Engine for AI tasks, and better power efficiency. In my experience, it is the best thin-and-light laptop for the average person, whether they are students, professionals, or creatives who don’t need the power of a MacBook Pro.
MacBook Air M5 vs. M4: What You’re Missing
Apple has recently launched a new MacBook Air equipped with the M5 chip. The M5 offers small but genuine improvements over the M4. It offers modest gains in CPU and GPU performance, a faster Neural Engine for AI, and slightly better power efficiency. This means faster app launches, better performance under load, and a few extra minutes of battery life.
The design, display, ports, and keyboard are identical, though the price differs. The M5 MacBook Air configured with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is sold at its full retail price and currently has no major discounts or exchange offers.
The M4, priced at Rs 96,325, is therefore a lot cheaper than the M5. If you want the lowest price and need a MacBook Air now, the M4 is the best value. But if you want the longest software support and the best performance for the next five years, then the M5 is the more reliable option.

Should You Buy It?
If you have a MacBook Air M2 and are thinking of upgrading, this is one of the best trade-in offers I’ve seen in India this year. It is uncommon to combine an exchange bonus with a bank discount. As a result, the MacBook Air M4 ends up being priced in the same range as a number of Windows ultrabooks.
If you don’t own a PNB card or a MacBook Air M2 to trade in, your savings will drop quickly. In that case, you could wait for a larger sale, such as Flipkart’s Big Billion Days or Amazon’s Great Indian Festival, since those discounts are available to more buyers.
In short, if you have a MacBook Air with an M2 chip and a PNB card, this is a great offer; for everyone else, it’s a reasonable price reduction, but not something you have to buy.
Note: Before you buy, check the Flipkart listing for the latest exchange rates and bank offers, since terms may change without notice.
