HMD Global took the wraps off its long-awaited smartphone, called the Nokia 2, in India. The budget smartphone is the new entry-level phone from the Finland firm that falls right below Nokia 3 in the hierarchy. It has been at 99 Euro for the European market and is expected to fall under Rs 7,500 in India.
The company's cheapest smartphone has been carved out from 6000-grade aluminium with Gorilla Glass 3 on top of the display and polycarbonate back. The display on Nokia 2 is 5-inch IPS LTPS LCD HD (1280 X 720 pixels) display.
Under the hood, Nokia 2 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 212 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage. As for the battery, Nokia 2 houses a non-removable 4100mAh battery, which is said to last up to 2 days on a single charge.
For photography, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for selfies. And just like other HMD Global smartphones, Nokia 2 will also run on stock-Android Nougat out of the box, with a promised upgrade to Android Oreo in the coming months.
The Indian price and availability of Nokia 2 still remain a mystery. You can subscribe to Smartprix to get all the latest updates regarding the Nokia 2.
