Huawei Honor 7 review

It just feels odd that the Honor 7 is so similar to the Huawei P8 - and in some ways obviously better. Unless these two are exclusive to different markets, which is quite likely, there is no point getting the P8, is there? And that's as good a compliment as they get for the Honor 7.

But first things first. The Huawei Honor 7 actually over-delivers as a successor of the popular Honor 6. read more →

  • Optional Dual Sim
  • 20MP autofocus camera with phase auto-focus
  • 8MP front-facing camera, LED flash
  • Android OS v5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1
  • 16GB/64GB of built-in storage
  • No 4K video recording, no 60fps mode either
  • Non-removable battery
  • The GPU performance is behind the curve
  • No quick charging or wireless charging support
  • No Lollipop Material design to be found

Honor 7

The Honor 7 is a funny phone to review in some respects. I have to give Huawei props for not just churning out a regular no frills mid-ranger that does the job, but with nothing to get excited about. Instead, the Honor 7 is packed with interesting and innovative features, such as a fingerprint scanner, voice control, a custom UI aimed at making one-handed use easier, and a powerful camera. Overall the Honor 7 is a decent mid-range smartphone with some lofty aims - some of which it nobly fails to achieve. read more →

  • Great camera
  • Good performance
  • Low price
  • Fingerprint scanner doesn't work flawlessly
  • Uninspired design

honor 7 Review

The honor 7 has an attractive price given the hardware specs and feature set you get in exchange, but as a whole, the phone is far from perfect. We have no major complaints about the way it looks, the way it is built, or the way it feels when handled. The display’s color inaccuracies are also something we can live with. And we’re very pleased by the phone’s battery life, the quality of its still photos, and the clarity of its phone calls. read more →

  • Solid battery life
  • Really good call quality
  • EMUI brings a number of practical improvements
  • Flawed camera app aside, the phone can take really nice photos
  • Camera app needs serious improvements
  • Too aggressive when it comes to RAM usage and background app management
  • Fingerprint scanner could have been more reliable
  • UI tends to get sluggish
  • Display color accuracy and color temperature could have been better

An impressive and excellent one

An excellent phone in looks and performance wise, but issues with battery. If the battery is longer then definitely this stands to be 10 stared. Huawei has to fix this

  • Very good looks
  • Finger print sensor is good
  • Display is very nice
  • 21 MP(Rear) and 8 MP(Front) cameras picture quality is very good
  • Flash for front camera
  • Performance nice with no lags
  • Aluminium metal body
  • Voice wake up
  • Multi featured
  • 3 GB RAM and Expandable memory upto 128 GB
  • 4G working superb on this and no issues in connectivity
  • 3G is also working if u don't wanna go for 4G
  • Sound quality is good in speakers, but excellent in head phones using Skull candy
  • Smart key for 3 quick actions is good
  • Battery is not impressive. Even though its used heavily or used less its lasting a day or max day and half. Every now and then battery draining apps have to be closed
  • No dual sim
  • 16 GB internal memory
  • No corning Gorilla glass protection

A worthy Competitor on this price range

Honor 7 is excellent. But not outstanding. The Indian version has kind of let me down. But still a worthy buy in this price range.

  • IR blaster(Can be used as Universal Remote)
  • Multi functional Fingerprint sensor
  • Voice Wakeup
  • Aluminium Metal body
  • Both Cameras are awesome(With Flash either side)
  • Fast charging support
  • Seamless, Nippy and Responsive; no lags
  • Smart Key is neat
  • Bloatwares are less
  • Optional Reverse Charging provision
  • Only 16 gb inbuilt memory(Indian Version)
  • No Lollipop Material design
  • Too many fancy icons and animations
  • No Dual Sim(Indian Version)
  • Design not innovative
  • Back side prone to scratches
  • No 4K recording
  • No Corning Gorilla Glass Protection
  • Not water or dust resistant
  • Doesn't offer very high GPU quotient
  • Average Battery Life

  • Emotion UI on android 5.0
  • 3 gb ram
  • Aluminium metal body
  • Dual sim 4g
