Fantastic HDD but some peculiar features
Beautifully packed (as usual) and delivered on time (again, as usual) by Flipkart. OK Now about the HDD itself. It makes more sense to lie the drive flat on its back (blue side down). If it stands upright, the power cord and usb cable protrude out from the top (ugh..). The HDD has a white LED on the top (while lying flat on its back) at the rear end close to the connecting slots. I have a Seagate Expansion Plus HDD (2 yrs old model) which has comparatively better looks/build quality than this one (but this has a more modern look). But really the build quality is quite good. I've gotta admit one thing - THE CORNERS ARE SHARP !!!! All types of plug socket connectors provided. So if you fail to to find a connector to use in your home's plug points, seriously, change your home's plug points. The connecting cables are quite good although the usb cable(about 1m) is a tad shorter than my old hard disk's cable. Data transfer speeds are excellent (duh...it's Seagate) Comes with Seagate Backup Softtware preloaded. This HDD has a surprisingly GOOD heat management system.COOOL. Offers around 3.63 TB. 3 year warranty. Overall EXCELLENT HDD but one final small tiny design feature I'm curious about. Here goes---- WHY ON EARTH would Seagate make the bottom (blue part) with that ridiculously fantastic design and the top is plain glossy black? Almost makes me want to keep the HDD upside down all the time.... P.S. HEY FLIPKART CMON, what is this? I'm a certified buyer(????badge????).
