YouTube India has introduced a new annual subscription pricing in several markets across the globe. This offers a 12-month YouTube premium plan at a discounted rate. This means you can enjoy YouTube and YouTube Music ad-free, offline, and in the background. And as the company notes this is a special promotional offer until January 23, 2022. So, to know how to avail of this limited-time deal and how this new subscription plan works, read on.

YouTube Premium Annual Plan India Price

YouTube Premium Annual subscription is available in the following markets (for now):

  • United States,
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Brazil
  • Russia
  • Turkey
  • Germany
  • Thailand
  • Japan
  • India

In India, the YouTube Premium Annual Plan is available for ₹1,159. This won’t be automatically renewed after the 12 months period. So, you will have to manually renew it.

Clearly, from the above table, the annual YouTube offer looks lucrative. However, they may last till January 23 only. YouTube is yet to reveal its plans past that deadline.

Now, joining the new YouTube plans is easy for a new customer. You sign up and choose the annual plan you prefer. That’s it.

But, for an existing premium YouTube or YouTube Music subscriber, the migration isn’t that simple. As the official support page mentions, to change your membership type, you will have to first cancel your existing subscription and then sign up for the new annual premium membership. I fall in this category and at the time of writing this, I haven’t been able to switch. Even after canceling my current plan, YouTube wasn’t letting me into its new annual subscription. We will keep you posted on any updates on this.
