YouTube, one of the most popular video streaming platforms, keeps experimenting and introducing new features for the masses to make their experience better. In a recent development, the application got a handful of features that will be available for people who have a premium subscription to YouTube. Moving further in this article, we will talk about the latest features that have been released for premium users.

YouTube Premium new features

Cross-device streaming: YouTube is going to provide the ability to watch the videos on the platform from any of the connected devices as soon as the user switches from one of them to another. The cross-device functionality will work for Android, Web, and iOS. For example, if you have left a video midway on your phone in the morning, then you can simply continue it on your laptop or PC after a while.

Watching videos offline: YouTube Premium also provides a Smart Downloads functionality that automatically downloads recommended videos in the library whenever the users are connected to WiFi. The feature is a boon for people who are in the habit of forgetting to download videos before going on a long journey.

YouTube queue: The YouTube Queue feature allows the users to control what they get to see and what video plays next in the lineup. The feature was previously live for the web version of the video streaming platform, but now it will e rolled out for tablets and phones running on iOS and Android operating systems.

Watch it with friends: Yes, you read that right; now, YouTube Premium subscribers will be able to enjoy their favorite videos on the platform with their friends. The platform allows premium users to host streaming sessions on Google Meet, where their friends and family can join the sessions, even if they have a premium subscription or not. The feature is being used on Android devices with the help of Meet Live Sharing. According to YouTube, the feature will be available for iOS users with the help of SharePlay.
