Yamaha electric scooter could launch soon in India; here are the complete details

Electric Scooter enthusiasts this news might interest you. Yamaha Electric scooter might soon be launching its first-ever electric scooter in India. That’s right, the Japanese automaker could unveil a lineup of EV two-wheelers on April 11. This may include the globally launched Yamaha E01 and Yamaha Neo e-scooters.

While the company has not officially revealed the launch date but it has commenced sending ‘Block Your Date’ invites to dealers with a message. The invite summary says that the company is stepping into the future with a stylish and sporty product without specifically revealing much. 

Also, the manufacturer has registered E01 and EC-05 in India where the latter e-scooter is retailing in Taiwan. As for India is concerned, Yamaha is believed to take off with a premium range of electric scooters including an LCD digital console, wireless connectivity, and smart features to be connected with smartphones.

Out of the two alleged EVs, Yamaha Neo is believed to be an electric scooter comparable to a 50cc petrol scooter with a range of up to 68km. The Neo could reach a top speed of around 40kmph and lower to 35kmph in Eco mode. It would support an Android connection with DRL LED front lights and an LED-cluster rear lamp.

Yamaha E01 (global)

On the other hand, Yamaha E01 will be more premium with performance somewhat equivalent to a 125cc petrol scooter. It could offer an improved range of up to 80km per single charge with a top speed of 80-100kmph. Design-wise, it can follow a maxi-scooter model for a sporty look. The E01, for sure, will offer advanced smart features, trendy head and tail lights, and comfortable riding ergonomics.

For battery, it is widely believed that Yamaha could offer both – complete ownership and swappable plans. For the latter model, customers can reduce the purchase cost and pay subscription fees to replace batteries whenever required.
