Xiaomi’s Mi Max 3 with 6.9-inch screen and 5500mAh battery goes live; India Launch Expected in October

The much-hyped Xiaomi Mi Max 3, with an impressive 6.9 inches screen, is finally official. The phone is available in three different colour options of Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue. Xiaomi had revealed most of its specifications prior to Mi Max 3 launch and had even compared the phone to its previous model Mi Max 2 to give prospective buyers a clear understanding of what has been improvised this time. Yet, the most talked about feature of this phone is its large screen size and durable battery.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features

A staggering screen size of 6.9-inches with Full HD+ 18:9 IPS 2.5D curved glass display makes it suitable for consumers who prefer watching multimedia content on their phones.

The Mi Max 3 functions via a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 processor and Adreno 509 GPU coupled with a 4 GB or 6 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB storage with up to 128 GB expandable memory option. The phone carries a battery unit of 5,500mAh capacity, contrary to the 5,300mAh battery that was fueling the Mi Max 2, and is supported by Quick Charge 3.0 for faster charging, a feature that was absent in its predecessor Mi Max 2. The phone is powered by Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.

The rear of Mi Max 3 wears a dual 12 MP + 5 MP vertically aligned, PD focus, sensor camera combo with the superior camera featuring a Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4µm pixel size and f/1.9 aperture. The LED flashlight is also present between both the rear cameras. The 8-megapixel front camera comes along with a soft LED flashlight, 1.12μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture along with high tech AI facial recognition, bokeh effect, 206 scenes, face unlock and voice assistant that makes the Mi Max 3 a selfie-friendly mobile.

The device is supported by a 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, headphone jack, and USB Type-C port.

Mi Max 3 Price and India Launch (expected)

In China, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is available in two different memory variants of 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage (with a price tag of approx. Rs 17,320) and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (with a price tag of approx. Rs 20,370).

The phone will reportedly launch in India in October 2018.
