Well, the much awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is available for buying on leading e-tailer Amazon India almost a week ahead of its expected official launch event. As per the Amazon product listing page, the Xioami Redmi Note 4 is available in 16GB storage with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage with 4GB RAM priced at Rs 21,491 and Rs 27,055 respectively. But if you are planning to buy Redmi Note 4 we would caution you to wait. Here are the reasons why.
The Main reason why we are advising against buying Redmi Note 4 for now because listed article is yet to be officially launched in India. In has been sold by an untrusted seller named “Generic (Unbranded)” which raises a question mark on the authenticity of the product.
Secondly, specifications of the listed Redmi Note 4 point to the Chinese variant. In China, Xiaomi introduced Redmi Note 4 powered by a MediaTek chipset. However, In India, Xioami is engaged in a copyright battle with Ericsson and is barred by courts to sell MediaTek powered smartphones in the country.
Thirdly, the Redmi Note 4 listing price on Amazon India is more the double of what Xiaomi official price in China. Back home, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 base variant is priced at RMB 899 (Rs 9,000 approx.) while the upper variant is retailing at RMB 1,199 (Rs 12,000 approx.) Even if you decides to pay inflated prices, it is unlikely that you will receive after-sale services from the company.
Xiaomi has started rolling out media invites for its upcoming event on January 19 to be held in the national capital and in all likeliness it is going to launch Redmi Note 4 at the event. The Indian variant of Redmi Note 4 is likely to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and under the hood, it is expected to employ a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.Remaining specifications are likely to remain identical to the Chinese variant.
