Xiaomi Redmi A1 to launch on Sep 6; Specs & Design Teased

0

Xiaomi is all set to launch a series of Redmi smartphones on September 6. It comprises Redmi A1, Redmi 11 Prime 5G, and Redmi 11 Prime 4G. In fact, there’s a Redmi A1+ in the rumor mills too although take it with a pinch of salt. Circling back to the Redmi A1, the phone will make a splash on the Redmi A1.

It has already received its landing page on Xiaomi’s website giving a peek into how the phone would look. However, the specifications are scarce but hey, as the phone is launching just two days later, the entire specs sheet has been leaked online giving information on what the phone will bring to the table.

Xiaomi Redmi A1 Design

According to 91Mobiles, Xiaomi Redmi A1 is an entry-level smartphone with a waterdrop-shaped notch at the front. The display is huge and with thick bezels on the side with flat edges. The back is made up of plastic (obviously) but with a leather texture to it that gives it a bit of a premium feel. The power button and volume rockers are on the right and a SIM slot is on the left. There’s a squaricle camera bump with a dual camera setup at the back.

The story further adds that the phone measures 164.9×76.75×9.09mm and weighs around 191 grams although we need to figure out if that’s actually the confirmed news once the phone launches officially. The available colorways on the Redmi A1 are Blue, Green, and Black as confirmed by the Chinese maker itself.

Xiaomi Redmi A1 Specifications

Well, the landing page for Xiaomi Redmi A1 mentions that the phone has an A1 display although there are no specifics available for the same. We can see an A1 processor powered by MediaTek, however, again there’s no information on what processor the phone will use.

Talking about the specifications as purported by 91Mobiles, the Redmi A1 has a 6.52” HD+ panel boasting a 1,600x720p panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio. There’s a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC (probably that’s why the landing page says an “A1 processor”). It is paired with 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage with 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The storage can be expanded to 1TB using microSD cards. There’s a 3GB RAM variant too although that needs to be seen.

Next up, there’s an 8MP rear primary with an auxiliary dual camera setup at the back while the front has a 5MP shooter. The specs further mention support for Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, 2.4GHz WiFi, 5000mAh battery paired with 10W fast charging tech among others.
