Earlier this year, Xiaomi released its latest mobile in MIX series, under the label MIX 2 S, with a noteworthy “S” suffix. Now the next Mix iteration, the Mi Mix 3 is taking shape and is rumored to go official on September 15.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, Xiaomi mostly launches its near bezel-less phones (notch-free ones, that is) under the Mix banner and all of these phones mount the selfie camera on the bottom.

Following OPPO Find X and vivo NEX launch, the demand for global full-screen flagship devices has witnessed a steep surge. Xiaomi, the firm that gave meaning to the concept of “full screen” in its MIX series, is especially under pressure to come up with another device in the above concept. It can be well understood that the current evolution pattern of Xiaomi MIX series will lead to its devices having a narrower chin in the future. This will be done for the purpose of a higher screen ratio. As per the reports, Xiaomi might implement a lift camera solution on board moving forward.

New reports suggest that the Mi Mix 3 might also include Samsung 2K AMOLED display, with COP packaging technology. This will work towards reducing the width of the lower border of the screen by a considerable amount. The smartphone might also come loaded with a 20MP lifting self-timer lens, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, in-display fingerprint sensors, and Qi wireless charging.

Although these are simply rumors for the time being, and we’d suggest you take this info with a pinch of salt.
