Xaiomi Mi Max 2 With Snapdragon 625 and 5300mAh Battery Launched

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched Mi Max 2 phablet in its motherland. The new jumbo size phone is a successor of the last year’s Mi Max and Mi Max Prime, which are also retailing in India. Though Xiaomi sticks with the original screen size, the Mi Max 2 has seen incremental changes on all other fronts.

The Mi Max 2 flaunts an all metal design and unlike its predecessor, it flaunts the trending U-shaped phone antenna bands that complement phones overall aesthetics. It is also evident that Xiaomi has cut down the bezel size from around the display. It also packs an IR blaster, fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2

Specs wise, Xiaomi opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset which is contrary to street speculation of Snapdragon 660 SoC. Xiaomi manages to team it up with 4GB of RAM and 64GB 0r 128GB internal storage depending on the user requirement. It also supports microSD card up to 128GB in both variants.

Interesting, camera and battery are two aspects that a major upgrade. The Mi Max 2 come with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 386 image sensor with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and dual tone flash. It’s worth mentioning that, Xiaomi uses the same sensor in its flagship device – the Mi 6. Up front, it features a5-megapixel camera optimized for selfies.

The Mi Max 2 battery is almost 500mAh bigger that its predecessor. It comes with mammoth 5,300Mah battery that as per the company claims can last up to 2 days on regular usage. It also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 that quickly tanks up the battery without damaging it.

Just like its predecessor, this new super-size smartphone is targeted towards buyers who consume multimedia mainly on their smartphones and don’t want to carry a tablet every time they step out.

The Mi Max 2 price for 4GB + 64GB variant is 1699 RMB (roughly Rs 15,953) and for 4GB + 128GB is priced at 1999 RMB (roughly Rs 18,765).
