The third phone in the Mi A-series has already started showing up in rumors and leaks. Xiaomi has already teased the devices earlier this year. As some of you might already know, the Mi A3 will ship with Android One software, just like its predecessors. Lately, few live images, as well as key details of the phone have also emerged online.

Mi A3: Launch date

Mi A3 is rumored to tail code-name “orchid_sprout” wherein the _sprout suffix denotes a Google Certified Android One device. According to credible leaks, the Mi A3 will launch in Poland on July 25.

However, a recent tweet from Xiaomi’s Spanish account reveals that the Mi A3 will launch on July 17.

Until any official declaration from Xiaomi India, we can’t be certain of its India debut date.

Mi A3: Design and Display

Xiaomi seems to have bid farewell to the top bezels. The live images, as well as renders of the phone, show a notched display. The above image reveals a 6.08-inch AMOLED display with a fast in-screen fingerprint scanner. This one will probably sport a full HD+ resolution.

It might surface in 3 colors – Gray, Blue, and White. You can see some of these variants down below.

Mi A3: Under the Hood

If you’d recall, the Mi A2 ran on a Snapdragon 660 processor. This year, Xiaomi has packed a newer SD 665 chipset which engines the recently launched Mi CC9e. In case of performance, this chip fares better than the SD660 in benchmark scores.

As far as storage/memory is concerned, the phone is likely to come out in 4GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB storage variants.

The leaked image also reveals a 4030mAh high-capacity battery that supports 18W fast charging. If you’re wondering, yes it has a USB type-C port at the bottom alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack.

By far, the Mi A3 gives a Déjà vu as it enlists similar specs seen in many of the 2019 Xiaomi smartphones. But as you may know, the differentiating element of Mi A series is the Android One experience, which you’ll get with the Mi A3. Unlike its Xiaomi peers, this one will have a bloat-free stock Android Pie or above. It will get a guaranteed 3 years of monthly security updates and 2 years of Android platform updates straight from Google.

Xiaomi Mi A3 looks a lot like the recent Mi CC9e, which premiered earlier this month in China. The previous Mi A phone had failed to match the breakthrough success of first-gen Mi A1. However, this one does seem to have the ingredients for a good phone. Cameras, in particular, boasts Xiaomi’s tried and tested formula. For now, we look forward to the official launch date.
