CC series would stand out for their aesthetics, designed by art-oriented Chic & Cool 90 team. It would be targeted at the young generation who resonates with fashion and “want to define themselves”. Lei Jun highlights the young people’s desire to be seen and heard, their love for photography and sharing on social media.

The new phone is a descendant of the strategic partnership between Xiaomi and Meitu. A new phone from this joint entity is rumored to arrive under the moniker- Little Fairy. Thus,  “Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab” could combine their advanced camera hardware and beauty technology. This would be a similar approach as Samsung did with its Galaxy A series that was marketed at millennials.

While its too early to tell, the downside could be less than impressive specs in the CC lineup. Meanwhile, the expected spec sheet includes a 48MP camera residing within a motorized rotating module and Snapdragon 730 chipset. Additionally, a watered down version, viz. CC9e could look like Mi 9 and come with Snapdragon 712, a 4,000mAh battery with 18W charging. This one could sport a 32MP selfie snapper and a 48MP primary rear shooter.
