Following up on the Xiaomi 12 series, we got our hands on the first look of the Xiaomi 13 series thanks to the courtesy of Onleaks and CompareDial. The 5G renders look flamboyant with iPhone 14-inspired design which means you can bid adieu to a curved screen for a flat one. Here’s more information about the same.
Xiaomi 13 First Look
Xiaomi is prepping for the upcoming flagship launch. Dubbed the Xiaomi 12 series, we just got our hands on the 5K renders for the vanilla variant aka the Xiaomi 13. The phone looks impeccably similar to the iPhone 14 thanks to the flat display and flat sides that would give you an iconic iPhone-ish look.
According to CompareDial, the phone has a 6.2” flat display with super tiny bezels around the edges as you can see in the renders below. I mean if you check out the sides, you will spot iPhone-like antenna bands on the upper side of the flat sides which is downright iPhone 14.
You get a power button plus a volume rocker on the right; a USB-C, speaker grille, and microphone at the bottom while the left side is empty. Have a glance at the back and you will see three differently-sized camera sensors housed in a buff squaricle camera bump. Although it is huge, the renders do show it looks good and is not something you would see on a OnePlus 10R-like phone where the bump is enormous.
According to the reports, the phone carries dimensions of 152.8×71.5×8.3 mm where it is slightly beefier at the camera bump at 10.3mm. Moving on, there’s speculation that you will get Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC out-of-the-box. Although it is not confirmed, it is something one would easily guess given the fact that it is an upcoming flagship phone.
In My Opinion…
As usual, it seems like Xiaomi is pulling off an Apple. The way Apple pushes the features and design changes become widespread across Android phones. With that being said, the iPhone 14 brought flat sides heavily and it seems like Xiaomi wants to bank on the same. One can easily misunderstand Xiaomi 13 as an iPhone if you aren’t aware of the rear camera bump since there’s little to no difference between the two.
Remember how Apple got rid of the charger and other smartphone manufacturers followed? It’s not just one but the same goes for the 3.5mm headphone jack, even the SIM card slot, and more. There’s no surprise that other manufacturers will try to bank on what Apple proved worth doing and that’s what Xiaomi is doing, again.
