WhatsApp made an announcement regarding the Call Links feature in September 2022 for the smartphone application. The same works in a similar way to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. The feature will be available for both video calls and voice calls. It can be said that the feature will surely make the calls pretty convenient as compared to the previous setup. Following the same, WhatsApp has released the Call Links feature for Windows desktops.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2307.3.0 will be getting the Call Link feature. With this feature, the users will be allowed to join calls by simply clicking on the link that they get on the desktop. The feature is already available for the iOS and Android versions of the application. The screenshots of the interface shared online show a dedicated call section where the users will have a feature to set up links for calls. To do the same, users will have to click on the Create Call Link option and then choose the call type.

It will have two different options, including video or voice calls. After generating a call, you simply need to forward the link to a group or a person whom you want the users to join the call. The URL for joining the call will be unique, and no one will be allowed to get into the call without approval from the users. People who are not in your contact can also join the call with the help of the call Link feature. The call link can be shared outside the application on platforms like Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

Call Link feature details

The Call Link feature will help the user to create a call and share it with up to 32 members through personal messages, or one can also post the link in a group. In a single call, a total number of 32 members can join. We can say with surety that the feature will help the platform in competing with other alternatives like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.
