Vivo has quietly launched a dialed down variant of Vivo V9 (Review | FAQ), dubbed as the Vivo V9 Youth. Both phones have the same design, but the cheaper Youth variant primarily uses a different chipset.
Vivo V9 vs Vivo V9 Youth: What is the difference?
Here are all the differences between V9 and V9 Youth:
- The Vivo V9 Youth has Snapdragon 450 mobile platform, instead of Snapdragon 625 in Vivo V9
- The Youth edition also has lesser 32GB storage (vs 64GB).
- The V9 Youth has a 16MP selfie camera (vs 24MP in Vivo V9)
- The resolution of secondary depth sensor camera on the rear has been reduced to 2MP.
- It will retail in a new black-gold color option.
Vivo V9 Youth Features
The Vivo V9 Youth has the same 6.3-inch display with a notch and runs the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0. It also has the same dimensions as the Vivo V9 and houses the same 3260mAh battery.

The handset is powered by Snapdragon 450 (the same chip that powers Vivo V7 and Redmi 5) with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset has a dedicated microSD card slot that can accept up to 256GB of secondary storage.
The 16MP primary rear camera is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor that’s used for the portrait mode in Vivo V9 Youth. The front 16MP selfie sensor benefits from a software-powered portrait mode and AI beautify mode.
Other features include Face Unlock, Fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
Vivo V9 Youth Price and Availability
The Vivo V9 Youth is already available at offline stores across the country for a market operating price of Rs. 18,990. The Vivo V9 Youth will also be available online on Flipkart, Amazon, Vivo Store and Paytm Mall starting April 24. It will be available only in Black Gold color option.
