Valorant, one of the most popular games by Riot Games, is trying its best to lure as much as Indian fans as it can. Working in the same direction, the franchise has introduced a new agent in the game from Indian origins named Harbor, also known as Varun Batra. The character will be available for the free-to-play version of the same and made its debut in the event that took place in Mumbai.

In the event, the abilities of Harbor were showcased using the character in gameplay live for the audience present at the event. The character will roll out for the general audience starting on October 19. Ashish Gupta, Marketing Lead for India and South Asia at Riot Games, said that after multiple months of sheer dedication, the franchise is finally glad to introduce Harbor to the Valorant Universe. He further said that the company is already overwhelmed by the love and support given to them by the audience.

Valorant’s new character Harbor’s launch event details

As for the launch event, it was a complete package of spine-chilling experience and even included a real-life replica of Harbor’s motorbike from the trailer. Riot games also invited Valorant Pro-teams to the Mumbai event. Players from different groups like Global Esports, VLT, and Enigma took part in the exhibition match along with the influencers. The event ended with a performance of ARB4, Tienas, and Mangal Survarnan, who are the producers behind ‘RAJA,’ the desi hip hop track behind Harbor and Carnatic fusion backing tracks.

What does the future hold?

Valorant has made its place in the list of the best battle royale games available in the market right now. The way big names are making it to smartphones for both Android and iOS, it will be no surprise to see Valorant Mobile in the future. Moreover, Riot Games announced that the smartphone version of Valorant is under development, and it will make an entry by the year 2023. In a recent report, it was also reported that the mobile version of Valorant is possibly being tested on the Google Play Store.
