Lamborghini India has unveiled the Urus S, priced from Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom, India), making it the second model in the Urus line-up, besides the Urus Performante which is priced slightly higher at Rs 4.22 crore (ex-showroom, India). The Urus S is positioned as a more luxurious and customizable version of the two models, with a price that is Rs 4 lakh less than the Urus Performante. The Urus S made its global debut in September 2022 as a replacement for the outgoing Urus.

Lamborghini Urus S performance

Under the hood, the Urus S packs a powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 666 bhp of power and 850 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, delivering power to all four wheels. The Urus S claims an impressive acceleration rate of 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.

The Urus Performante shares the same engine as the Urus S and boasts an acceleration rate of 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 306 km/h. The Urus Performante replaces the air suspension in the standard Urus with a coil spring set-up, offering the Strada (Street), Sport, Corsa (Track), and a new Rally mode, but loses the three off-road modes, Sabbia (Sand), Neve (Snow), and Terra (Mud).

Lamborghini Urus S exterior and interior

With the Urus S, Lamborghini has created an SUV for the comfort-seeking enthusiast, offering luxury and performance in one package. The Urus S boasts similar cosmetic enhancements as the Urus Performante, including a new bumper, a reprofiled bumper, and a new bonnet with cooling vents. The Urus Performante, on the other hand, offers a partially exposed carbon-fibre bonnet and a carbon-fibre roof as optional features.

As far as the interior is concerned, the Urus S shares the same design as the Urus Performante but features different materials. While the Urus Performante comes with a standard Black Alcantara interior, the Urus S has leather as the standard material, with the option to upgrade to Alcantara interiors. Furthermore, Lamborghini will offer a more comprehensive customisation service for the Urus S, with an array of materials to choose from.

Lamborghini Urus S Competition

The Lamborghini Urus S faces competition from several other high-performance SUVs, including the BMW XM, Audi RSQ8, Aston Martin DBX 707, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, and Maserati Levante Trofeo.
